They are regularly accompanied by Hōsei Yamasaki, Naoki Tanaka and Shōzō Endō. In this episode the five of them enter a hospital for 24 hours and are not allowed to laugh at anything that happens otherwise they get punished. The humour is very visually based which is different to the one liners in Western comedies, eg. Having 5 grown men change into nurses outfits, one guy ends up with a skirt that’s way too short. Other common trends in the humour are: elements of surprise, awkward too-long pauses, unusual social situations, random but rare inappropriate touches, punishment/pain jokes, culture shock (slightly), exaggerated reactions and many personal appearances so people the comedians know spontaneously and unexpectedly showing up. Unexpected but got me for a couple minutes.Ģ When they go into the room where they reside most of the episode there is a chair for only 4 of them, the fifth chair is a rocking horse.ģ One of the guys opens the drawer on his desk to find a compilation of his brothers high school essays.Ĥ The producer of the show makes an appearance and just hugs all but one of the cast, this joke comes with the knowledge that in Japanese culture/society they don’t seem to hug The Review: Favourite Moments:ġ When told to turn a sign around that was at a distance you expect the joke to be on the back of the sign, he runs off to do that and falls straight down into a hole that was covered in leaves. ![]()
